Cycling is a cardiovascular sport, and if you're just doing 1-minute intervals, you're not training the most important aspect very well. You're essentially describing a runner training for a marathon by doing 26 1-mile all-out intervals. It just doesn't work that way. WebEach of them needed to ride enough base endurance miles before starting any intensity training. Base miles prepare the muscles, tendons and ligaments for harder intensity riding. After logging those base miles then each rider continues endurance riding and adds some training in the sweet spot.
