Farmall cub timing marks
WebAug 24, 2014 · Well, there is a timing mark, its on your flywheel. There is a pointer, its on the back of the bell housing inspection plate. These marks are use for "static" setting of the timing. If you prefer you can set the static timing, then rotate the distributor back a forth to find a sweet spot. http://yesterdaystractors.com/articles/artint7.htm

I assume one is TDC and the other some amount of advance. I timed the mag to what I believe is TDC and the tractor runs great there. The second mark will TDC. When the engine is not running, make your ignition deliver at TDC. The ignition system will advance itself when rotated at speed. I time tractor engines by ear.
