WebTaken together, we argue neural studies of metaphor comprehension support weak embodiment accounts in which sensorimotor grounding is most likely when the sensorimotor features of a word are especially relevant for comprehension (as when encountering novel metaphoric uses), but otherwise optional or epiphenomenal.
